Alice was born in Scotland and grew up in Kelburn castle, based next to a lively seaside town called Largs on the west coast. Kelburn is a magical and dreamlike place which has been an abundant source of inspiration for her and for many others throughout the years. 'The variety of beauty that enlightens your senses, combined with the eccentricity of my family and events that take place in and around the house, have been continual fuel for my imagination' Alice says. Currently the castle walls are covered with animated, effervescent Brazillian graffiti, a one-off, original project called, 'The Graffiti Project', which took place in May 2006.

Alice Boyle studied Interior Architecture at university as she loved designing and making model houses. There were many elements of Interior Architecture she enjoyed but she rarely got to physically make and create. The environments Alice created were always based around contrasting materials and textures, which she believes heightens one's senses and subconsciously arouses one’s psyche. 'I designed a film house as well as an art gallery and art and design library, and was commended for my original concepts and schemes. However, I now know I want to be creating art work rather than spaces that house it' Alice says.
